Who we are
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Like most website operators, Toolbox Advice collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Toolbox Advice’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Toolbox Advice’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Toolbox Advice may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
All web servers track basic information about their visitors. This information includes, but is not limited to, IP addresses, browser details, timestamps and referring pages. None of this information can personally identify specific visitors to this site. The information is tracked for routine administration and maintenance purposes.
Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information
Certain visitors to Toolbox Advice’s website choose to interact with Toolbox Advice in ways that require Toolbox Advice to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Toolbox Advice gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who subscribe to our newsletter at Toolbox Advice to provide an email address. Those who engage in transactions with Toolbox Advice are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Toolbox Advice collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfil the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Toolbox Advice. Toolbox Advice does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
Toolbox Advice may collect statistics about the behaviour of visitors to its websites. Toolbox Advice may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Toolbox Advice does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
